Position Description:
This part-time position provides interpretation and translation services to clients of Catholic Charities.
Key Tasks - Interpret for Spanish speaking patients in the Xavier pregnancy program and other programs of Catholic Charities as needed - Coordinate with Catholic Charities and other programs to assist with client’s other needs - Ensure client’s dignity and Catholic values are always upheld - Enter shift data in ETO and help produce reports - Work cooperatively with Interpreter Coordinator to monitor program needs, effectiveness, areas of improvement - Provide interpretation for two weekly on call shifts - Duties as assigned Key Skills - Strong understanding of Catholic social teaching - Bachelor’s degree preferred or related experience - Interpreter certified - Interpersonal skills - Excellent written and verbal communication (English and Spanish) - Problem solving and decision making abilities - Ability to handle intense job situations due to the nature of the appointments - PC literate with Word, Excel, Outlook
