On this page we will add pictures and other information about the new campus at Harvard and Apache - 2450 North Harvard Avenue.  You can follow the construction process right along with us.

Still in construction, but also serving God's people (11/23/09 through 12/04/09)

Here are some pictures showing some of the activities over our first week on the new campus.

The Monday before Thanksgiving - our first day open.  The lines were long for Thanksgiving food baskets and the Giles' Coats for Kids program.

We served over 1,000 families/individuals in our first 3 days on the new campus.  AWESOME!!!

We gave away approximately 4,000 coats in the first 3 days.

The bells were also installed that week.

The altar is installed in the Chapel.

We are still unpacking and moving in.

We had lots of good help for the first days open.  Thanks to all our volunteers - you are INCREDIBLE!!!!!!

The Madonna House bedrooms are starting to get furniture.

All the nick knacks and frilly goodies are still to come.

The living room will be a very comfortable and peaceful place for the residents.

Here is the kitchen.  Quite a difference from the old one.

Lots more room in the dining room also.

Our new entrance sign is in place.

The stained glass is being installed in the Chapel.

Lots of work but the end product is worth it.

Bishop Slattery admiring the sacred art in one of the Chapel's alcoves.

Finishing touches and it will be all done.

The sun shining through on Friday morning.

Preparing the statue to be placed at the entrance.

A group of 47 Junior Honor Society members from Owasso who volunteered this morning as a group project.  They were tremendous help and had an impactful day of serving.  Thanks!!!!

Moving Out and Moving In!! (11/18 through 11/21/09)

Well the day has come to leave 739 North Denver and move to 2450 North Harvard.  Here are some pictures of the moving days and the activities that happened from Wednesday, November 18th through Saturday, November 21st.

The end of an era.  After over 50 years of service from this location the sign is removed at 739 North Denver and a new sign was put in its place to redirect everyone to our new campus.

Fr. James Van Nguyen is the celebrant at our final Eucharist in the Chapel.

Staff and volunteers share a sign of peace at the Mass.

Executive Director Kevin Sartorius begins the last "739" staff meeting with a word of prayer.

It is a time of remembering and anticipation as we pray in thanksgiving for those served and the many who have served at "739".

This is the way we pack our stuff...

... pack our stuff, pack our stuff.

This is the way we pack our stuff, so early in the morning.

Some breakfast goodies provided by Petty's Fine Foods.

Lunches provided by Taco Bueno, Albert G's BBQ, and QuikTrip.  Thanks so much to these donors for reducing our stress of how to feed the staff and volunteers and for providing such good meals.  There were lots of tired but smiling faces when we gathered together to share a meal.

Sorting clothes in the new donation processing area.

Thanks to Relocation, LLC for donating two (yes two) moving trucks and four professional movers to help us with the move.  It is impossible to say how much help these men and their equipment were.  We were able to move everything from "739" in one day!!!!!  YEA!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone pitched in and made the move go very smoothly.

The guys from Relocation LLC worked so efficiently.

We received a donation of 1,000 (right one-thousand) bags of clothing made available by Deacon James Pierret of St. Vincent DePaul Parish in Coweta.

The bells for the bell tower of the Chapel were delivered on Friday afternoon.

Bishop Edward Slattery personally thanks the donors of the bells prior to the blessing ceremony.  Since most of us will not be able to climb into the tower to look at the bells, below are closeup pictures of the three bells so you can read the inscriptions (Matthew 7:7, Luke 11:9).

This is inscribed on the reverse side from the scripture verses on each bell.  Thank you Alan and Sharon for this wonderful gift to the people of God we serve!!!

Shelving the Thanksgiving turkeys (that will soon be given away) in our new subzero freezer.  These kids were very cold - but they were having a great time.

The Thanksgiving dinner distribution will be for approximately 800 families.  We pre-prepared the sacks of fixin's to go with the turkeys.  Giles' Coats for Kids and the Thanksgiving dinner distribution will both begin on Monday, November 23rd.

Construction Update - The Move has Begun!!!!  (11/10/09)

Catholic Charities has begun the move to our new campus.  We had about 45 volunteers plus staff assist in moving much of the Clothing Center on Saturday, November 7th.  We will have more volunteer moving days on November 14th, November 18, 19, 20 and 21, and on December 12.  If you are interested in volunteering contact John O'Neill at 949-HOPE (4673) or joneill@catholiccharitiestulsa.org.

Over the next few weeks we will be moving all of the local programs (except for St. Joseph Residence) to the new location at Apache and Harvard.  Here are a few pictures of some of the new furniture and what has already been moved as of the first week.

Here are some of the clothes that have been moved into the donation processing area.  in the background you can see some of the shelving and racks that will be used for more effective and efficient donation handling.

We are excited to announce that the first official service to the community at the new site will be Giles' Coats for Kids and the Thanksgiving Food Basket distribution on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving - November 23, 24 and 25.  We have already received a few hundred coats from Yale Cleaners for the program and will continue to receive, sort and display more coats for the opening in two weeks (yes just 2 weeks).  What a way to open the new facility but with a few hundreds families receiving these wonderful gifts before Thanksgiving.

Shelves have been added to the Food Pantry.

This is the new Food Pantry Waiting Area.  This will be a much more comfortable and convenient place for the families to wait until their food order is completed.

This is one of the Case Workers' offices in the Padre Pio Assistance Unit.  Some will have one desk and some will have two.

This is the reception/waiting area for Immigration and Migration/Refugee Services.

An office with a single desk.  The furniture is well built and very welcoming.

The conference room in Immigration and Migration/Refugee Services.

A look into the Courtyard from the Xavier Medical Building.  The grass really tops off the look of the new facility.  It is hard to believe that the construction is coming to a close.

Dental equipment awaiting installation.

A rolling file system for the medical files.

The pews and kneelers are now installed in the Chapel.

The Crucifix has also been installed.

Some of the beautiful landscaping around the Chapel.

Here is the Chapel with the landscaping in context.  It is becoming a truly beautiful and welcoming place.

Construction Update - Getting Close to Moving Time! (10/26/09)

There has been a lot of activity at the new campus:  moving in of some furniture and equipment, buildings almost complete, sod being laid and even the construction fence is taken down.  Enjoy these new pictures taken in various places around the new campus.

We are getting closer and closer to move-in day.  These pictures were taken on September 23rd.

Construction Update - Random Pictures Around the New Campus (09/21/09)

Each day I visit the site there are multiple projects in various stages of completion.  In this addition I will show a variety of buildings and rooms to try to give the feel of the broad range of work being done.  I ask that you pray for favorable weather and the continued safety of all who visit or work on the site.

The walkway from parking in front of Administration towards the Education Center.

The main reception desk in the Education Center.  This is where the main phone line will be answered by our volunteer receptionists.

An example of the restrooms in the facility.  This one is on the Education Center.

In the Education Center each restroom has two shower stalls.  This can be used by staff or volunteers who might ride a bike to the campus, or who exercise at lunch, or possible for overnight retreat guests or student groups we might host in the new facility.

The kitchen in the Education Center is almost operational.  WOW - what a facility!!!!

Even a commercial dish washer!!

This is the entrance/lobby to Adoption and Counseling Services.

Pouring the sidewalks and preparing the drive for asphalt in front of the Madonna House and Saint Elizabeth Lodge.

Not all of the drywall is hung as of this morning.  This is the entry to Saint Elizabeth Lodge.

Construction Update - Focus on one Building (08/27/09)

This week we look at one of the buildings in more depth, specifically Xavier Medical Clinic and Mother Teresa Dental Center, just to give you the feel of the many levels of construction going on.  Also I have included a picture of the tile in the chapel.

The tile being installed in the Chapel.  It really is going to be a wonderful worship space!

The front entrance to Xavier Medical Clinic, Xavier Pregnancy Clinic, and Mother Teresa Dental Center.

The waiting room/front entrance.  It is a little hard to visualize with all of the equipment, but it looks to be a very inviting and functional space.

Cabinets waiting to be installed throughout the office are being stored in the conference/break area.  You can see a few are already installed on the side wall.  Lots of windows in this room!!

A restroom without the fixtures installed.

This is one of the examination rooms.  Lots of cabinet space!!

One of two nurse's stations.

The other nurse's station.

The three dental suites are getting the heating and air ducts installed.

The back door.  The sidewalk towards the right leads to double doors that open into the Chapel area.

Construction Update - Details and Nuances (08/19/09)

There are lots of little details and nuances that are now being installed.  Most of this group will be interior oriented.

The Chapel now has the chandeliers hanging in place.

The stove and ovens are now in place in the kitchen...

... as well as the dishwasher.

Lighting fixtures over the doors onto the patio - back of the Education Center.

Tile floor in the main entrance to the Education Center/Chapel.

Construction Update - Some Interior Pictures (08/06/09)

Many of the changes from this point forward will be on the inside.  In this installment we will look at some of that indoor progress.

Newly polished, but dusty, corridor in the Education Center.  It is shiny enough to see the reflection of the ceiling grid in it.

The multipurpose room in the Education Center.  With the lights and ceiling grid in one can now get a feel for the size of this room.  There is also the possibility of the room being divided into six (6) smaller classrooms, or different combinations using movable walls.

Tile has been laid in the commercial kitchen, also in the Education Center.  The appliance to the left is the range hood and fire protection/suppressant for the stove/ovens.

Inside the Clothing Center display area.

Inside St. Elizabeth Lodge - A/C, and electrical are moving right along.

A bath tub/shower combo ready to be installed in the Madonna House.

The front door to the Education Center was stained today.  This is the outside view.

This is an inside view.

Construction Update - A Current Look at Buildings/Program Locations (7/31/09)

Lots of changes happening at the new site: paint, roofing, stucco, staining of wood, window and door installation, sidewalks and curbs.  This installment will show each building in its present state, with maybe a detail photo or two thrown in for good measure.

Overhead view on July 23, 2009.  The fire station in the lower right corner is now open and 100% operational.  They should be good neighbors!

Chapel and Education Center.  The stucco, paint and external trim work is pretty much complete.  The wooden beams on the walkway covering will still be stained to change the look a little bit.

The entry sidewalk was recently poured.  This is the view for someone when entering the main entrance.

Administration to the left, the Chapel to the right.

The wood is now stained in the Chapel.  The pictures do not do the color justice.

Some dust has gathered on the stain, so in the area where the dust has been wiped away is a good representation of the color.  It is going to look very nice!

Construction Update - Outside Color and Roofing (7/10/09)

The final color can be seen on these latest pictures, plus the roofing is being added on some of the buildings.

Overhead picture from June 23, 2009.

Construction Update - Stucco and Paint (6/6/09)

The stucco is beginning to be applied and the final paint color is on the bell tower for the chapel.

Construction Update - Archbishop Eusebius Beltran Takes a Tour (5/21/09)

The Archbishop of the Diocese of Oklahoma City, and past Bishop of the Tulsa Diocese, Most Reverend Eusebius Beltran joined Bishop Edward Slattery and Kevin Sartorius for a tour of the new Catholic Charities' Campus on North Harvard.  Besides discussing programs and building details, much of the conversation centered around the needs of those served by Catholic Charities and the Lord's call to us as Christians to respond with our time, energy, talent and prayer support, as well as with our financial backing.

Archbishop Beltran visits with Kevin Sartorius, Executive Director of Catholic Charities.

Archbishop Beltran, Kevin Sartorius and Bishop Slattery enjoy a lighter moment in the tour.

Program details and goals integrated with building design were discussed, as well as the spiritual implications of serving the poor.  The tour began in the Chapel and extended through many of the new buildings.

Flintco site superintendent Clifford Lemmons was also a part of the tour.

Construction Update - Subtle Changes (5/19/09)

There are lots of subtle changes at the site - both indoors and outdoors.  Here are a few that are beginning to bring the character out in the buildings.

Scaffolding to apply stucco on the bell tower, brickwork around the Chapel, and the walkway timber have been added.

A closer look at the walkway in front of the Administration building.

St. Elizabeth Lodge and the Madonna House now have the roofs in place.

The entry to Xavier Medical Clinic and Mother Teresa Dental Services.

A look at some of the brick work on the Chapel.

They will finish applying the sealant, then install the stucco screen (to hold the stucco on the building, and then the stucco.  Looks like the bell tower and Chapel will be the first to have a more completed look from the exterior.

Overhead shot from 4/23/09.  It is going to be quite a campus!!!!

Construction Update - Brick and Walkway Trim (5/12/09)

Another picture of some of the brick work and the wood beams for the covered walkway.

Construction Update - Bell Tower and Brick Work Begun (4/28/09)

The bell tower is completely enclosed, so the Chapel has really taken shape.  I have also included a picture of some interior work in the Chapel and some of the brick work that has begun also.

Construction Update - Program Locations and Interior Goodies (4/16/09)

In this update I will show each building and identifying the program(s) associated within that building, along with some other pictures.
